Nature
I went to a dark, grassy, park. I was there right after the sun set so it was sort of blue and there was no one there. I sat on a blanket, and had my starbucks hot chocolate with me. I found my mind wandering between school, friends, and all different aspects of my life. I could not help but to worry about things going on in my life. Then i was worrying because i was worrying!!! Then i put my head down and looked at the clouds and thought about God. God is a huge part of my life. I felt it was the perfect oppertunity to reflect on my thoughts and how those relate to my religion. Emerson states, that through nature you can find the perfect harmony between the divine and what is on earth. I found that it was much easier to reflect on my religion when in nature. Towards the end however, i found myself thinking about my homework and how i should get back home to finish it. so then i left=)

Leigh-
This is so true. I found the same problem when i set out to do my friendship experminet. I had serious trouble focusing on focusing. It is so hard to try to make your mind completely blank and to surrender yourself completely to nature. It felt nearly impossible to forget about everything happening in my life, and it took me forever to fully let my mind go, but when i did, it's worth it. When we are able to let nature take us over and able to trust it to not hurt us, it becomes a protective balance. It allows us to understand things we didn't understand before and that's what makes it so peaceful. For example how you said you began to think about God, i'm sure it made you realize things you aren't able to realize when you have distractions.
I really enjoyed reading your quote. Even though it was hard for you to concentrate on this experiment, you were ultimately able to let go of your everyday stresses and concentrate on nature and God. I could relate to this because it sometimes happens to me as well. Often times we are so preoccupied with school and what not, that we forget to leave some time for nature and God. good job!
